A North Georgia deputy shot and killed his K-9 partner after the dog suddenly attacked him, according to the county’s sheriff. Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson told The Associated Press that deputy Corey Griffin had worked with the dog, whose name was Rocky, for four years. However, Rocky attacked his handler Saturday for the second time since November, forcing the deputy to shoot the dog three times.   The two were serving a warrant in Chickamauga when deputies began issuing loud commands to four people inside a home, the AP reported. Rocky then became aggressive, refused all commands and bit Griffin’s arm. Rocky wouldn’t let go of the deputy’s arm, and Griffin had to shoot him, Wilson said. The deputy was treated at a hospital and released the next day. In November, Rocky attacked Griffin during a search for a shooting suspect, the AP reported. The sheriff’s office posted o...

Homemade Cat Deterrent Spray – Stop The Scratching and Accidents

Image
This is our sweet Macy Grace. She’s one of our two cats, and that lovely piece of furniture is my new couch, and their new favorite scratching post. I am not pleased. I get it though…cats need to scratch. Let’s not pretend like Macy Grace and Pearl don’t have scratching posts…they do. They’d just rather help me break in the new couch I guess. Also, Pearl has decided that she prefers the area behind Matt’s chair to her litter box (which is always clean and she has always used). She’s angry at us for bringing in Macy, and that’s just too bad. We love them both…they are our babies, but the nonsense had to stop. I decided to try some things out. At first, I tried making a spray using lemon and eucalyptus essential oils. They worked, but after doing some research, I realized that those essential oils were not safe for cats and dogs. So, I had to find one that was safe to use that would be annoying enough to them that they would stop using my furniture as a scratching post and...
